  • Last Tuesday, we held Fall Recruitment Training on Facebook. This training can be watched at anytime on http://bsaarchive.webtestdev.com/programs/recruitment/. Other recruitment resources will also be available on that site as well.
  • If your unit did not attend Program Preview, please stop by the Ritter Service Center and pickup the items in your mailbox. There will be a binder on top of the Roundtable box. This binder contains new Scouting For Food maps for the Cape and Jackson areas (thanks again, Willie!). If your unit is in either town, please look through these and decide which territory your unit would like to have. If your unit has not claimed a territory by the end of August’s Roundtable, a territory will be assigned to your unit. This is to ensure that we can receive adequate help with each area by the time Scouting For Food comes around.
  • Our August Roundtable will be combined with Popcorn Training. This will be held at The Concourse, 429 N. Broadview in Cape Girardeau. Dinner starts at 6:30 and program begins at 7. Click here to sign up for the sale!
  • Please send your fall recruitment dates (first and second join nights) to Ashley Metelski: 314-920-0621 or Ashley.metelski@scouting.org by June 28, 2019. This is to ensure that we can have school access within the first 2 weeks of students returning.
  • All Youth in grades 1st-5th are welcome to our “Out of this Galaxy” camps! You can find your local day camp on our interactive google map here!

Register today to join us for several days of fun and activities!

  • Save the date for Cub Launch 2019! October 5 from 9am-1pm at Jackson City Park, Pavilion #1. Events will include: Fishing, BB Guns, Archery, Water Bottle Building & Launching, Rope Making, Fire Starting, Monkey Bridge, Tug-O-War & more!
  • It is my pleasure to announce that Rebecca “Becky” Long has been promoted to Field Director for Team 5 effective June 1, 2019.  In this role, she will lead the field and support staffs based out of the Ritter Service Center in Cape Girardeau, MO, which includes Cherokee, Ozark Trailblazers, Shawnee, and Sioux Districts.
Becky joined the Greater St. Louis Area Council as District Executive in Ozark Trailblazers District in July, 2015.  In that position, she led the district to membership growth in 2016 and 2017.  She also increased the district’s Friends of Scouting total by 11% over the course of two years.  Additionally, she assembled a powerful nominating committee and recruited top level district volunteers.  In 2018, she was promoted to District Director in River Trails District where she continued that momentum. In her tenure there, she and District Executive Justin Crain achieved membership growth, including growth in the Cub Scouting program.  As in Ozark Trailblazers District, she again helped secure top district leadership with the recruitment of a new district chairman and district commissioner.  Please join me in welcoming Becky back to Team 5!

Thank you to Ameren Missouri and Plaza Tire Service, for your investment in the mission of the Boys Scouts of America as a 2019 Merit Badge Sponsor!
