10/19 – Mid-Month Newsletter
December 09, 2019
- We discussed the upcoming recharter process at October’s Roundtable. If your unit has not picked up your recharter packet yet, please do so immediately. Don’t forget, these are due on November 27. For a copy of the presentation at Roundtable, CLICK HERE.
- A service project is a special Good Turn that puts Scout spirit into action. Projects can take many forms such as a community cleanup, repairing a place of worship, improving a wildlife habitat, or organizing a recycling effort. Start now reporting all service hours. It is a key measurement goal in the Journey to Excellence program. Don’t miss out on valuable points for your JTE unit award. Log your hours at http://bsaarchive.webtestdev.com/activities/community-service-log/
- Popcorn take orders are due October 26. Popcorn pickup will be Friday, November 8 from 12-5 at Buchheit Logistics. Let the office know if you’d like to pick up your product early that day or help sort.
- Scouting for Food is right around the corner! If your unit still needs bags, please get them at the Ritter Service Center. If your unit runs out of bags on November 9, you may pick up extra bags from 9-1 at the office.
- Just a reminder that if your unit uses Scoutbook, your Advancement Chair needs to be registered in the unit as the Advancement Chair. Lots of units have someone who has this title unofficially but in order for that person to put in the advancements in the system, they need to be listed as the Advancement Chair on the recharter. The units’ Key 3 have access to Scoutbook but this is for units with someone other than the Key 3 serving as their Advancement Chair.
- Make sure to order your Scouting for Food patches by November 22. Order online here.
- 2019-2020 Special Needs Awareness Training will be held at Beaumont on November 2. Attend this training to learn how to provide the best services for every Scout. Register here.
- Have Scouts interested in getting the Aviation Merit Badge? Join us this weekend at the 2019 Fall Camporee! Register Here!
