- Scouting for Food in Shawnee district and the Greater St. Louis Area Council was a huge success! Our district collected over 41,000 items of food for those in need. Thanks to all who made this such a successful service project.
- Please try to get your recharters in by Christmas. If you have questions or concerns about the process, please contact your Unit Commissioner.
- Help wanted!! Shawnee district is looking for volunteers to assist with presentations for the 2020 Family Friends of Scouting campaign. If interested, please contact Ashley Metelski- metelski@scouting.org
- We have an abundance of Scouting for Food boxes left over in front of the Ritter Service Center. These make EXCELLENT packing/moving boxes. Boxes are free for the taking!
- STEM University at Southeast Missouri State University registration is open for all Colleges! Register here
- Please enter your unit’s service hours online. This counts towards your unit, the district and the council’s Journey to Excellence. The form can be found here

- The Shawnee District Winter Camporee will be January 17-19, 2020 at Whippoorwill Lake. Scouts BSA and Venturing youth will be working on the Fish & Wildlife Management Merit Badge. Register here
- The 2020 University of Scouting will be held at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Registration starts at 7:30am. Opening Ceremony: 8:45am. Classes Begin: 9:10am. Register here
