2020 Piasa Bird/Cahokia Mounds Winter Klondike Derby

The Klondike Derby is a competitive event where teams pull sleds between various stations, and perform team tasks at each.

Who: All Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crew and AOL

When: January 11th, 2020 (with camping opportunities all weekend)
Where: Camp Warren Levis – Godfrey, IL
Cost: $12 per person before January 6th, $15 after

Schedule:

Friday:  4:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Check-In and Registration for units that are camping.
Saturday:  7:00 am:  Check-in for units not camping.  8:00 am – 4:30 pm:  Klondike Derby
Sunday:  8:30 am: Scout service for units that camped Saturday night.

Important Note about hazardous weather

In case of inclement weather, the following communication will take place:

1. Thursday 5:00pm first evaluation will take place and communication will take place

1. by https://www.facebook.com/cahokiamoundsdistrict/ and email event registration list
2. Friday evaluations will take place at 10:00am & 2:00pm &
3. 5:30pm by https://www.facebook.com/cahokiamoundsdistrict/ and email event registration list
4. Forecast of Ice Friday and Saturday will case the event to be canceled
5. Forecast of Snow will be evaluated at the time above
6. Canceling Friday night camping and delaying the event start on Saturday is an option
7. Pushing event to occur on Sunday is an option
8. Postpone event to alternate date (March 7th or 8th)
