Boy Scout and Cub Scout Advancement Workshops

Cub Scout Advancement Workshop (CSAW) and Boy Scout Advancement Workshop (BSAW) are the perfect options for Scouts working toward earning their rank advancements and merit badges. These workshops can be a great resource when a Scout needs to catch up, a qualified Merit Badge Counselor is required for a specialized area, or if a struggling Troop needs some experienced guidance.

Seven workshops, administered by volunteers and professional Boy Scout staff, are held annually with the council providing all necessary advancement materials, handouts and syllabi.

Cub Scouts can earn the Bobcat rank at their first meeting. Cub Scouts at all levels (Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, Arrow of Light) that attend every workshop will earn their rank advancement by the following May.

Many young people in the St. Louis area don’t have the family or neighborhood support needed to fully participate in the Scouting program. Through the CSAW/BSAW workshops, youth still have the opportunity to advance to their next rank while having fun, learning life skills and growing as a Scout!

All sessions take place on Saturday mornings with an opening ceremony that begins at 9:30 a.m. The workshops also include lunch for the Scouts and are free of charge to all participants.

Any Scout (or unit) interested in attending CSAW/BSAW can do so by contacting Khary Floyd at Khary.floyd@scouting.org.
