philmontscoutranch.org/ptc

philmontLocated at the world-famous Philmont Scout Ranch nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northwestern New Mexico near Cimarrón, the Philmont Training Center has served as the National Training Center for the Boy Scouts of America since 1950.

The divisions and committees of the National Council offer a wide range of conferences. Click here to go to the Philmont Training website for more information on classes and training programs.

Participation

Scouters are nominated by their local council to participate in conferences, then challenged to return and share the information in local training. Contact your district training chairman if you are interested.

Family Program

While a Scouter is participating in a conference, every member of his or her family is involved in a full schedule of age-specific activities. After hours fun for the entire family is also offered.

Housing and Meals

Families are housed in extra-large, two-person wall tents on platforms. Each tent is equipped with twin beds, electricity, bedding and towels. Modern showers and restrooms, medical facilities, laundry and northern New Mexico’s moderate climate will make you feel comfortable and at home. All meals are served in Philmont Training Center dining halls.

Your fee covers all meals and lodging (beginning with supper on Sunday and ending with breakfast Saturday), training materials, and family programs. Optional programs such as bus tours and Cimarrón museum visits as well as handicraft supplies may be available at a nominal additional cost.
