Hazardous Weather Training
Hazardous weather training has always been required for one leader on an outing in a unit. It is now required training for all unit-level leaders to be considered trained to ensure the safety of the youth in the program. There continue to be all different types of weather-related incidents across the country and this training has helped leaders plan better to deal with weather and react appropriately when there are signs of troubling weather ahead. The training can be accessed in the Learning Center at my.scouting.org. It is found under “Program Safety” in the Expanded Learning section of the Home Page of the Learning Center.
