Additional Training Options
Having every leader trained leads to active units, increased retention, and most importantly, a well-rounded youth leader.
Training also is available during Boy Scout summer camp. If all you need is Introduction to Outdoor Skills, you can attend the Voyager Program each morning Monday through Friday and inform the camp office that you are there for training. If you need Troop Committee Training or Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster training, you will need to attend training at the Health Lodge by the Ranch Headquarters every afternoon from 2-4 p.m. Venturing training is offered by the camp director at Swift Base.
If none of these options fit your schedule, contact Gary Dedeke, woodyccs4@sbcglobal.net to see if there can be an alternate training session.
Roundtable
Join other Scout leaders for information about upcoming events, training, and programs to support your Scouting unit on the first Tuesday of every month at Sperreng Middle School (12111 Tesson Ferry Rd.) at 7 p.m.
Online Learning Center
Do you need to take Youth Protection Training (YPT)? Do you need to take your Cub Scout Leader Training? All of this and more can be done while visiting the BSA’s Online Learning Center.
Use your membership number on your ID card to sign in. If you are new to Scouting and do not have a membership number, create a new user name and password. Every time you complete a training session, print out the certificate provided and turn it into your Unit Leader or Committee Chairman.
