Scouting for Food, BSA’s largest one-day food drive

November 08, 2014

imageScouting for Food is the BSA’s largest one-day food drive, raising 15 percent of area food pantries’ yearly supply and feeding the hungry in the community for three months.

In the city of St. Louis and St. Louis County, the items are boxed and sent to the St. Louis Area Food Bank for distribution to more than 480 food pantries in the St. Louis area. Outside of the city and county, the donated items are distributed directly to pantries.

Within 48 hours of the Scouts’ pick-up, the donations will be on pantry shelves ready to feed the needy. Contact your District Scouting for Food chair for more information on where your crew can help out.
